WHO DOESN'T LIKE
THINGS MADE FROM MAIDA (FLOUR)
Who does not like things made from flour? In street food,
most of the things are made from maida (flour) like Cake, bakery products,
breads, samosa, bhatura, tandoor roti, momos etc. and they also taste
delicious. But have you ever known how this maida (flour) is made from wheat?
IS MAIDA (FLOUR)
BENEFICIAL FOR HEALTH?
Wheat milling involves a process in which the outer surface
of the wheat is removed. Minerals and vitamins are found in this outer surface.
After removing these, the remaining bran which is the inner part of the wheat
is in a white form. Minerals and nutrients and vitamins are used in it i.e. 2%
is saved. So Maida (flour) is not that beneficial for the body.
Maida (flour) can be made in two types, one homemade and the
other made in large quantities which is made by machines in the factory.
HOW IS MAIDA (FLOUR)
MADE?
Wheat has three
parts:
1 ENDOSPERM
2 BRAN
3 GRAINS
First of all the wheat is washed thoroughly and then it is
dried thoroughly. These wheat are put in the machine which is a flour-making
machine. In this machine, the process is like this that first of all the
endosperm and grain are removed separately from the wheat. The remaining inner
square center which is white in color is ground well, that is why its color is
white and we use it in the form of flour. Flour is made in large quantities in
machines.
HOW IS MAIDA (FLOUR)
MADE FROM WHEAT AT HOME?
{Home Maida (Flour)}
1. Clean the wheat grains thoroughly and dry them. After
drying, moisten the wheat again a little. After that, thresh the wheat little
by little with the help of a big stick. Do this crushing at your
convenience. This will remove the top layer of wheat. But due to being wet, it
will not be separated from wheat. That is why they dry the broken wheat again
in the sun.
By drying them in
the sun, the peels on them will separate. Separate them by shaking them with
the help of a spoon. Or pass it through a thick sieve.
2. Grind the wheat in a mill or using any wheat grinding
machine available at home.
3. Sieve the ground wheat thoroughly. You can sift this
flour with the help of a cloth or through a fine sieve.
4. Now the fine flour that we get may be a little brown as
compared to market flour. But this is this type of flour. Now this flour is
ready to use.
5. Handle the flour well and store it.
Note that this process is for making flour at home. If you
are buying flour from the market, then note that sometimes the flour available
in the market may contain other additional or unknown adulterants along with
the flour.
