How alum works on face for pigmentation .

Alum has antiseptic, antibacterial and skin tightening properties, which can help reduce pigmentation (freckles, dark spots). It removes dead skin cells by exfoliating the upper layer of the skin and is helpful in balancing melanin production.

Ways to use alum for pigmentation:

1) Alum and rose water:

1) Take a pinch of alum powder and add 1-2   teaspoons of rose water to it.

2) Apply this mixture on the affected area and wash it off after 10-15 minutes.

3) Daily use can cleanse and tone the skin.

2) Alum and honey:

1) Mix 1 teaspoon of honey with half a teaspoon of alum powder.

2) Apply it on the face and wash it with lukewarm water after 15 minutes.

3) This will help reduce pigmentation along with moisturizing the skin.

3) Alum and lemon:

1) Mix half a teaspoon of lemon juice with a     pinch of alum powder.

2) Apply it on the affected area and wash it off       after 10 minutes.

3) People with sensitive skin should do a patch test before using it.

Precautions:

Do not use alum in large quantities or for a long time, as it can dry out the skin.

If there is any burning or itching, wash it off immediately and apply a moisturizer.

Use it only 2-3 times a week.

If your pigmentation is severe, it would be better to consult a dermatologist.
